  3. =================
  4. Attached are the script and six Drawing Gallery slides for
  5. HP PerfRX which can be used for customer presentation.  The
  6. slides have been sent to you as a single compressed file so
  7. you can download them to your PC more easily.  Download the
  8. file as a binary file using AdvanceLink or any other terminal
  9. emulation package.  You need to download the file so it has
  10. an .exe extension.  Once on the PC, run the file to uncompress
  11. the 6 slides.

  13. Slide 1, prx1.gal, "Overview":
  14. ------------------------------
  15. HP PerfRX Analysis Software is an interactive performance
  16. analysis tool for managing system resource utilization.  It
  17. allows user's to maximize productivity by optimizing the
  18. utilization of system resources.  HP PerfRX provides a
  19. graphical and tabular representation of the performance
  20. data collected by the HP Performance Collection Software.

  22. With HP PerfRX, you can manage your various system
  23. resources from one central workstation.  By providing
  24. a graphical view of long-term system activity information,
  25. HP PerfRX will help you maximize your system resources and
  26. identify existing or potential system performance problems.
  27. It provides a hierarchical approach to performance management
  28. that will guide you from the system level perspective down
  29. to the application and process level for more detailed
  30. analysis.

  32. HP PerfRX is part of HP's integrated set of performance
  33. management solutions.  Other products include HP GlancePlus,
  34. which provides the real-time performance diagnostics capability,
  35. and HP PerfView, which provides a management-by-exception
  36. functionality within the distributed environment.

  40. HP PerfRX provides the user-friendly interface to global,
  41. application and process level data.  This information can
  42. be viewed at a daily, weekly, or monthly basis for trending
  43. analysis and workload balancing.

  45. HP PerfRX provides a standard set of graphs to view the key
  46. resource utilizations, but it also allows you to configure
  47. and customize your own graphs for specific analysis or to
  48. incorporate into management reports.  Another way of customizing
  49. the analysis is to export the data out for consolidation or
  50. for analysis using a third-party statistical or graphing package.

  54. By allowing you to visually determine how your key system resources
  55. are being utilized, HP PerfRX will help you quickly isolate
  56. performance bottlenecks and quickly identify existing and potential
  57. performance problems.  With the information HP PerfRX provides, you
  58. can balance the workload across your system resources and effectively
  59. manage and document your system's activity.

  63. HP PerfRX is an integral tool for organizations supporting mission
  64. critical systems and applications.  It provides a way to proactively
  65. manage system resource utilizations from a central workstation.

  67. This particular customer is managing geographically-despersed heterogenous
  68. systems, and needs to understand and manage the workloads on those systems.
  69. With HP PerfRX, they're able to analyze logfiles taken from the various
  70. systems and manage the utilization of their system resources.

  72. Slide 5, prx5.gal, "PerfRX, LaserRX, and PCS":

  74. HP PerfRX provides an HP-UX workstation-based user-interface to
  75. historical performance data collected by the HP Performance Collection
  76. Software.  It provides a single interface to the performance logfiles
  77. collected from HP-UX, MPE, or Sun SPARCStation systems.  The logfile
  78. can be extracted and copied to the local workstation or can be accessed
  79. remotely through an NFS mount.

  81. HP LaserRX is a PC-based tool to analyze performance logfiles.  Now
  82. you have a choice to analyze MPE logfile on the PC with HP LaserRX/MPE,
  83. to analyze HP-UX logfiles on the PC with HP LaserRX/UX, or to analyze
  84. either logfiles on an HP-UX workstation with HP PerfRX.

  86. Slide 6, prx6.gal, "Integrated Solution":

  88. HP PerfRX, along with HP GlancePlus, and HP RXForecast, are tools to
  89. manage individual systems.  HP GlancePlus provides the on-line diagnostics
  90. capability to answer questions such as "What is happening on my system
  91. right now?"  HP PerfRX, and HP LaserRX on the PC platform, are resource
  92. management tools to help you characterize workloads and balance system
  93. resource utilization.  They help answer questions such as "Why is the system
  94. always slow the last week of every month?"  HP RXForecast provides a way
  95. to predict future system resource requirements, and helps answer questions
  96. such as "When can I expect to need more system resources given the current
  97. usage trend?"

  99. HP PerfView is the on-line management application for the distributed
  100. environment.  It provides the problem notification and characterization
  101. capability for centrally managing multiple systems across the network.
  102. Future tools will provide a way to effectively plan for resource
  103. requirements across the distributed environment.
